GOLDEN RATIO CONFIGURATIONSEPTEMBER 2024
The golden ratio is considered harmonious because it represents a proportion that appears naturally pleasing to the human eye and is widely found in nature, art, and architecture. Aesthetic balance: The golden ratio, approximately 1.618:1, divides a whole into two unequal parts in a way that the relationship between the smaller part and the larger part is the same as between the larger part and the whole. This balance feels naturally proportionate and pleasing, creating a sense of visual harmony.
Mathematical simplicity: the golden ratio is connected to the Fibonacci sequence, where each number is the sum of the two preceding numbers. This sequence appears in many natural growth patterns. The simplicity and order of this progression makes it harmonious, as our minds are wired to appreciate patterns.
