The project involves redesigning the façade of an existing building located in Herestraat, Groningen, The Netherlands. The building currently functions as a swimwear store, but the goal is to repurpose it as a store dedicated to Dr. Martens shoes. The existing dimensions of the building will remain unchanged; only the facade will be transformed.
The design concept draws inspiration from Camden Town in London, where Dr. Martens stores often feature bold, iconic elements, such as shoes seemingly emerging from the walls. My idea incorporates this characteristic style by integrating the distinctive sole pattern of Dr. Martens boots into the facade design. This pattern will serve as a repeating motif, giving the building a unique and recognizable appearance that reflects the brand’s identity.
